One of the 24 generals of Takeda Shingen, he held the title of 'Saburou Byoue no Jou'. He was one of Takeda Shingen's closest retainers and defended Ejiri Castle after 1569. Like his elder brother, his personal troops were attired in red armor which earned his men the nickname of 'fire' or 'red' regiment.

In Mirage of Blaze Yamagata Masakage still fights for the Takeda and has possessed the body of a woman.
